You know what separates successful people from everyone else? Not talent. And definitely not luck. It’s their relationship with being uncomfortable.
Not so fun fact is that women undervalue themselves by 20% compared to men – and I used to be one of them. I could find a million reasons why I shouldn’t record this video, send that email, or pitch that idea. My brain loves creating elaborate excuses.
Right now, making this video makes me a bit cringe. I see every imperfection, wrinkles, messy hair, every stumble over words. But I’m doing it anyway because growth lives on the other side of uncomfortable. And I know that I will get better over time, so now I just need to do the best I can.
The world has trained us to expect success without the struggle. We want the results without picking up the phone, without putting ourselves out there, without risking rejection and feeling ridiculous. But those anxiety-inducing moments are our exact opportunities.
When you avoid discomfort, you don’t just avoid failure – you avoid being seen entirely. And if nobody sees you, nobody can help you, hire you, invest in you or buy your stuff, that you’re so proud of.
Everything takes longer than you hope and it’s really painful to see yourself failing over and over again. And stop comparing your chapter one to someone else’s chapter twenty. Use their success as fuel, not as proof you’re behind. Seek discomfort intentionally – in your career, relationships, personal growth.
The level is different for everyone, but everyone needs some to grow.
