If you don’t decide what you want to do — and be known for — you’ll bounce between a million ideas and never execute any of them properly.
For me, that’s crystal clear: I’m building two businesses — Oishya, my knife company, and Untrite, my AI decision intelligence company — while growing my personal brand to inspire others to start their own thing.
My goal? Once Oishya and Untrite become internationally recognised, I want to invest in other startups. That’s why I share my quirky mix of eCommerce and enterprise software stories.
In the beginning, you can’t do it all. Focus on one, max two things. Experiment, yes — but run those experiments long enough to see real results.
A few years ago, I had to let go of running Girls in Tech. I loved it, but the time I was spending there meant my own foundations were shaky. Save yourself first, then help others.
Write your focus down. Make it your North Star. Because it’s so easy to get distracted, especially now with a thousand shiny tools and platforms screaming for your attention.
And with little Arthur Oliver arriving soon, I have to be even more ruthless with my time — starting November, for the next few months most of my work will be from home, with fewer meetings, conferences, and trips.
Remember: success doesn’t come from doing everything. It comes from doing the right few things well
